I have custom system already a couple years in. I've never overclocked, but I've been reviewing many forums and videos. My build-

78lmt-usb3 rev 5.0
Fx8320 3.5ghz stock
750w psu
Nvidia 750ti
6 120mm fans
16gb ram
2tb firecuda ssd

I've had the desire to get the h100i to try to overclock the 8320.
Ive heard crazy ranges from many boards, but I wondered if that cooler could get up to 4.7? Ive seen the main ranges from 4.0 to 4.5 stable. But most are using the evo212. So I thought to ask before I just dove into it blind

The problem will be that the voltage regulators on the motherboard will overheat. An AIO cooler like the H100 don't circulate ANY air around the CPU socket so the VRMs overheat. That is NOT an overclocking motherboard. It has only 4+1 phase power regulation. I doubt you would get 4.0 on that motherboard.

The FX line of CPUs needs to die quietly. Save your money for a new motherboard, CPU and RAM. Get something with an included cooler and skip the H100.

I appreciate the return and the advise. I have 2 side panel fans as Intakes, blowing on the board itself to hopefully help. The rad is blowing in the front, and the back has an exhaust fan plus 2 up top. . I do appreciate the aid. I'll save up for another rig. Till then I'll just try to get 4.0 on it. Kinda cringe spending the money for the h100i, but it all looks nice. I'll toy with it till I can jump to an ATX. I just wish I knew what to disable in BIOS to safely get to 4.0 on this. Lol. It's a rev 5.0 . Apparently the rev 6.0 is used a lot for OC. Any liking to the asrock 970m pro3?
