AMD A12 9720P vs Intel i5 8250U?

Hey guys, so I'm looking into getting a laptop, and I've narrowed it down to 2. One with and AMD A12 9720P and another with and Intel i5 8250U. Now, my gut instinct is to always go with Intel when it comes to choosing a CPU, but what do you guys think between the 2? The rest of the specs are pretty much the same save for the integrated graphics, they both rely on the integrated graphics respective to that CPU.

Alrighty! This is actually going to be a gift for someone, trying to get the best bang for the buck in the CPU department. I tend to lean toward Intel for CPU and AMD for GPU (bang for buck again). Thanks!
