Ok so a while ago when my laptop was on windows 7 i used to play games like Counter strike global offensive and left4dead 2 with no problem with stable 40-30 fps without any stuttering or freezing then my hard drive started to fail (western digital 500 gb) and i replaced it with a new seagate 1tb hard drive and installed windows 8.1 on it, then i downloaded counter strike global offensive to start playing a little bit the game started normally but i noticed that it took too long on the loading map and also noticed that during the map loading the fans reduced its speed dramatically like if i werent actually doing a heavy thing and when i jumped into the game the game started to freeze and the fans spin slowly when its frozen but when it comes back the fans start to work normally (it freezes every like 5 minutes during game) i also tried another game just to make sure, i tried Fortnite and it has the same issue so i dont know what the problem is really
(ive also posted this before on Laptop Tech Support category, so if that is considered as duplicate, just delete one of them cause i dont know where to post this porblem exactly and thank you in advance)

Solution

A CR460 has an old 2nd gen i5 processor and runs on onboard graphics(Intel HD 3000). This laptop wasn't meant for gaming, but at least you're able to.

When you installed Windows 8.1, was it a clean install? Why not Windows 10? Your Windows 7 activation key will still work with activating Windows 10.

yes i did clean installation, and i choose windows 8.1 cause it said it was recommended for my laptop on the MSI model website, and i cant clean install windows 10 now cause i dont want to lose all my data and files so if there is any solution other that, that would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure all drivers are up-to-date, update BIOS(if there's an update for it), set "control panel - power" to "High Performance". Also, here's some tips to improve gaming performance with Intel graphics: https://www.howtogeek.com/245592/how-to-improve-gaming-performance-with-intel-hd-graphics-chips/
