Haven't built a PC in a few years, and my brother wants a PC of his own. Need second opinions on this build since I haven't been keeping up with it.

Problems with this list currently;

I haven't put much thought into the GPU since I can't seem to figure out whats going on with them. Prices were well above a thousand for a while.

What he needs is below 1080 price wise, something mid-level so a 1060 was by best guess. The AMD side I have no clue about, and I know they are the more price efficient brand, so please let me know what alternatives are there.

The CPU feels good though.

Overall his budget is flexible around the 900-1000 range, not worrying about peripherals.

Below is the text output from pcpartpicker, ignore the merchants, didn't bother messing with those. Will probably be exclusively newegg and amazon.

You have chosen a dead platform, 7th gen Intel is surpassed by 8th for some time now. Put together 2 builds. Also you picked a K series processor with an H270 board which isn't the best idea. K series are overclockable and H boards don't support that.

That R5 2600 and GTX1070Ti combo is completely worth spending extra as it is around 50% better in performance compared to GTX1060 combo which is a huge gain. All are high quality components. R5 2600 will OC nearly as good as R5 2600X and you will not be loosing much of a performance there.
