Mixing two brands getting quad channel compare to dual channel same brand

Hello I have 2x4GB Corsair 3000MHZ C15 DDR4, i can buy 2x4GB Balistix 3000MHZ, or i can try sell mine and buy Corsair 2x8GB 3000mhz DDR4.. the dual channel option will be a little bit more expensive..

should i go for quad channel but diffrent brands? or just dual channel set

Mixing brands is never guaranteed to work, and IMO I wouldn't risk it (you may not be able to return it if it doesn't work).

Get the 2x8gb kit. Also keep in mind unless you are running X99 or X299 platform you do not have quad channel. You have 4 slots, but 2 slots are on each channel.
