Hello

I have a budget of £400 and I wanted to know if it’s worth it buying a Pc or should I buy a Xbox one , or I could wait for the cryptocurrency mining to go and wait for pc parts to get cheaper. I know you shouldn’t compare console and pc because pc can do so much other things while a console can’t. The pc I was looking to get was a i3-8100 and a gtx 1050 ti, ill put a link down below for all specs. It’s £447 but it gets much better performance than Xbox. I can get an Xbox one x but I’m not so fussed about 4K gaming.

So these are my questions,

Should I build the pc( I have put the link below) or should I buy an Xbox one x?

Is it worth buying an xbox one x or should I wait for a new generation to come out?

Which will last longer(how long will it last playing the new generation games)?

Should I save my money and in another year or two buy a £1000 gaming pc?

Many thanks,
Nima

The answer depends upon whether you want to wait a year. Memory and GPU prices may not come down like you hope over the next year.

If you ONLY want to play some games, a console may be the better way to go, but if you want to do other things or have the potential to change/upgrade parts then a build makes more sense. When depends on how soon you want it if you have something to use in the meantime.

I wouldn’t recommend buying a setup with 2/5th of a grand. If I were you I’d buy an Xbox or be patient and wait for a few years. With a grand you can buy a decent PC setup. However not counting budget, I would have to say a PC, they are less limiting than an Xbox and can be upgraded in the future. A PC is a worthwhile investment.
