PCIE CPU Card

hey guys I was wondering how does a PCIE CPU Card work does it run on its own? does it increase performance? how can you use it ? and also what are the requirements to use one ?

I suspect that it just pulls power from a PCI-E backplane, so you might have a powered rack of PCI-E slots and plug one in each. I certainly would not expect that plugging into a normal PC would achieve anything useful.

However the layout of the connector does not look very PCI-E to me.

Looks like a mini PC setup you would use in a server rack type setup where you need density of computers in some custom build. That is not for a regular home PC.
