Replacement fan for the Hyper 212 Evo?

Last Fall, I purchased a new Hyper 212 Evo that, after just a few months, began making an excruciatingly noisy rattling sound from the fan. I reached out to Cooler Master and after some persuasion (i.e. pointing out that this is a known issue with their product), they sent me a replacement fan. Unfortunately, it seems this is an ongoing issue with their fan and likely not something they're going to address in production as in just two months, the rattling has returned.

I'm now in the market for a new fan. I like the cooler itself, just not the fan. NewEgg doesn't have a filter for "fan only" and to be honest, I'm not even certain I can buy a cooling fan without the cooler itself so this thread is a two-part question:

1. Can I purchase cooling fans without a cooler?
2. If yes, are there any recommendations for a 120mm fan replacement for the Hyper 212 Evo?

Thanks!

Dude, he is asking for a fan replacement cuz it was noisy (maybe in part due to the rattling but u get the situation) and the noctua industrial is not quite.

Look for static pressure fans from fractal design or be quiet. Or the noctua non industrial ones.

I suggested the 2000rmp cause it's quite tame at 50%pwm. While the 3000rpm has more potential for cooling(not sure if the Evo needs more air flow than the 2000rpm would provide). The reason for his noisy fan is obviously a bad bearing. Requires no brains to know that. I stick by my recommendation. I run several 3000 rpm industrials and they're not quiet, unless they're running at 25% pwm. The 2000rpm industrials should be nearly silent at 50% and have the potential to ramp up in a serious manner when the user requires more air-movement. The industrials are also slightly better to look than the stock F12 models.

That's how I run my 3000 rpm Industrials. I have 2 PWM headers that will go down to 25%PWM and the fans spin around 1200rpm and are nice and quiet, at about 14-1500 rmp they start to become audible and by 2000rpm are quite loud. Thankfully my cpu has to be doing a great deal and running quite warm(50C+) to get the fans to spin off the 25% pwm I have them at for a low point. :)

Apologies for such a late response.

Would the Noctua industrials fit the Hyper 212's cooler? Would it be compatible with an MSI 760 GMA-P34(FX)?

I know the motherboard is old; I plan on upgrading it (along with the FX-6300 I'm using) but I'd like to get a fan that doesn't sound like it's about to spin right off its brackets. This thing is otherworldly loud as of late. Here's a clip of the fan noise at idle temps (1900 RPM): https://youtu.be/0V8oSxUL0Ec

To be fair, part of the issue is likely because of the fan facing downward (toward the bottom of the case). That's the only way it'd fit though. Airflow is a bit lacking because the case lacks any ventilation at the top and only has two 120mm case fans, one in the front and the other in the back. Here's a link to the case I'm using:

If I'd be better off just buying a new cooler altogether, I'm open to that as well but I'd prefer to stick with something universal like the 212 EVO since it's compatible with both LGA-1151 and AM4 sockets (allowing me to go straight to an i7-8700 or a Ryzen 7). I don't want to commit to a cooler that I would need to upgrade again in the future because I haven't settled on Intel or AMD for mobo/processor.

Thanks for all of the responses guys.

The 212 EVO can't handle an I7 8700K etc so it would be best to get a BETTER cooler in the 1st place.

The fan will attach to that cooler just fine using the standard clips that come with the cooler(those clips will work with just about any 120mmx25mm fan, as almost all fans are mounted identically). If it were me, I'd set the fan up in a pull, rather than push configuration. Is there room to mount a fan or two on the side?, with the cooler installed?
