So, my PC was assembled for me by the store, so I didn't dig some of the details considering assembly, connecting cables, etc.

There are 2 drive cables connected to the PSU (through Molex, I think), but they both contain 3 SATA power plugs (in a straight line, not the Y splitter). Both lines have 1 Disk each (1 SSD and 1 HDD). So I was wondering, if there is anything I should consider, before connecting a 2nd HDD (for backups)?

My PSU is Chieftec aps-650sb (sadly can't find it on newegg), and the setup is not very power hungry (mATX motherboard with Ryzen 1500 CPU and Aorus 1060 6GB GPU + 16GB RAM).

Solution
As long as the cables are properly constructed, "Y' vs. '3 in a row' does not matter, and, ultimately, even with two 3 way lines coming off of a PSU, they are likely ultimately connected to the same output rail inside the PSU anyway....

We are powering a few hard drives here, not a drive shredding machine... :)
