Ram slot problem

Hi, my laptop is Dell m6800 4 slot, I am provide 2 nos of 8gb ram and 1 nos of 4gb ram, but show only 16 gb ram , please give the solution

The 4gb stick might just not be compatible with the other two sticks. Mixing ram can give problems,guess that you find yourself in that situation,don't really see anything that might improve this.
If you can get into the bios and adjust settings could you try and add 0.05V to the dram voltage,maybe this will help,but i doubt it.

Because they have to be matched in pairs (2 banks of 2). So the first bank is two 8GB = 16GB RAM. The single stick of 4GB is sitting there not being addressed because you don't have another 4GB to go with it.

BTW, the maximum supported memory for that computer is 32GB. So you would need all slots to be filled with 8GB modules if you wanted.

To the above ^ no that's not true,why do you think that? If all went well he would have 16gb od dualchannel ram and the 4gb stick would run single channel,but it seems not to be working.

Saw in this thread that someone just swapped a few times and suddenly the bios seemed to be willing to work with it,or maybe the memory controller was ....
