Hello.....
Will 2400MHz RAM suffice Ryzen 5 2600 for workstation and gamng build if I am not considering overclocking as an option?
PC specs
ASUS ROG STRIX B350 F Gaming Motherboard
Ryzen 5 2600
Kingston HyperX 8GB DDR4 2400MHz
Corsair 450W PSU
Nvidia GT 730 (Will be upgrading soon to GTX 1060 6GB)
Seagate 1TB Hard drive

Also what would be the minimum RAM speed if one is overclocking?

Solution
I would recommend against 2400 MHz. It does make a difference, even without overclocking the CPU. At least get 2666 MHz, which will work with all motherboards. The sweet spot is 3000-3200 MHz, but it may not work in all motherboards at the rated speed. That is, if the RAM stick is rated at 3000 MHz, it will only work at 2933 MHz, but that is still better than 2666 MHz.
With a gtx1060 I'll say yes.

What ram can you actually get hold of ?
Patriot viper, crucial ballistic & Kingston hyper x will all overclock to 2666 in my personal experience .

Anyway roughly you're looking at 10% fps drop between 2400 & 2933mHz.

On a 60htz screen that.makes no difference, you'll pretty much always be above 60fps anyway.
