Hi there,
Yesterday I was playing some Fortnite in the morning, and after that had to go out. When I came back, I opened Epic Game’s Launcher and tried to launch Fortnite. But then it said I had to verify the installation, because it was corrupt.
So i decided to verify it, but soon it gave me a BSOD saying error code BAD_POOL_HEADER. It soon restarted and i tried to uninstall and reinstall the game. But when it reached 100%, it would often give a an error saying IS-BSOV4 or BSOV2.

Apperently there was something wrong with my hard drive or RAM. I did a memtest and it said that there were hardware issues.

Is there a way that i can fix my RAM? Because this happened so sudden. It was fine in the morning, but now its messing up.

*UPDATE* I did a memtest86 test and on the first pass it found 267 errors. Is this bad? Also, prior to all of this and above I did a mobo flash for spectre 2 variant. Ram was fine, but could this be a cause?
*UPDATE* Now at pass 3/4, test 8, it shows 917 errors. I think i will be needing new RAM.
Thanks,
Salmaan

*UPDATE* The test finished, and errors were only found in test 10 and 13. Results of test:

*UPDATE* I did memtest86 on each stick and found that one of them was faulty. So i will be getting that stick replaced.
Thanks for your help! :)

Solution
There's no way that memtest result can be wrong about all those errors, especially as over 200 were found on the first pass.

For sure you need to replace the RAM with new sticks, even if you go by the reports in your last two screenshots, errors are still there - - the actual number of errors is largely irrelevant - - it's still bad RAM whether errors are few or many.

Hi there,
The errors were only found in test 10 and 13 (mainly 13). Even though all these errors, my system still runs fine. After the bois flash my games were fine, but only on Friday, thats when the problem occurred. But I think my system is fine now. Fortnite now finished installing without any errors, but i am still worried about the ram.

I did some more tests. Here are the results:
Hammer test only: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AoxcQ4_4t0jRiEG7VbJtJWCdtp1C
Test 10 only: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AoxcQ4_4t0jRiEJpitCW3nvMOaCD

Thanks,

MERGED QUESTION
Question from salm2s : "RAM issues. Lots of errors"

Today i was playing some fortnite and it suddenly crashed showing th Unreal engine crashed.
I did nothing with my comp, and for some reason it says there are issues with my RAM. I did do a memtest86, and it did say i had errors in my RAM. I don’t know why this is happening, because last week i was playing fine. On this Thursday though, i did flash my motherboard for the spectre 2 variant. Here are my system specs:
CPU: Intel i5 7600k @3.8 GHz
RAM: Patriot 4 Gig single stick RAM
GPU: EVGA GTX 1060 sc edition
Mobo: Asrock z270 pro 4

*UPDATE* So my brother was playing fortnite, and he says that everytime he has a few windows open, it crashes. Could this be a RAM issue or the game itself.

Thanks,
Salm2s
