So i have a gtx 1080 8 pins and I'm finding a cable to connect. It came with a 8 pin to one 6 pins and a 5 pin. This is too short, cables I have from cable mod are two 6+2 pins to 7 pin. Or a 4+4pin to 8 pin. What are my options. First time building a pc

Solution
The 8 Pin to 4/4 Pin cable sounds like a CPU EPS/Power cable cable. Don't connect this to your GPU. PCIe Power cables are usually 6/2Pin on one end and 8 pin on the other. The 8 pin end goes into your PSU the 6/2Pin end connects to your GPU.

I have a 1080 ti in this rig, it needs two power cables a 6 pin and an 8 pin connector. PCIe power connectors on devices like GPU's tend to be standardised on 8 pin and 6 pin connectors on the card.
