So I really need to recover some files from an old WD 320 gb drive of mine.
I've actually read here about testdisk so I decided to try it. I created a bootable freedos usb with testdisk on it and was able to view the files I need to recover. I tried rebuilding the bs and repairing the mft, but windows still can't open the drive and chkdsk says the drive is raw nonetheless.
Since the drive isn't really important to me as the files are, I tried just copying the files with testdisk onto my main drive, however testdisk wouldn't let me select another destination other than the usb itself which isn't enough. I read that I need to mount the destination file system first, but freedos said that "mount" is a bad command or something.
So what do I do now?
Thanks.
