Will my screen still work?

Ok, so I was given an LG G2 for free that didn’t not work. I found the problem, which happened to be the MoBo. I ordered a new mobo and battery and am still waiting on them to come in. My question comes in to play when I was examining the display. I found that near the bottom ribbon cable where a few small SMD transistors or resistors (I don’t know which) I saw some white looking corrosion. I cleaned it off and it looks as good as new now, but my question is will the screen still function? Was the corrosion just from use over time? Or is it because the SMD’s time has just come to fail. I really am hoping to recive a good answer telling me that the screen is ok, because those screens cost a lot of money, and I just spent almost $90 on both the new battery and mobo. Thanks in advance

Well from my experience Ive cleaned my friends which was in sea dropped and screen was dead but the phone is working ( without screen).
And my sisters phone which was dropped in water had corrosion on screen connector Ive cleaned corrosion and had burn marks but the phone works without an issue.
