Pc wont turn on

Hi, ive recently taken my pc apart (which was working before) as ive installed everything the light is on on the motherboard but it won't turn on, ive uninstalled the hard drive and DVD aswell as the other components, leaving only the motherboard plugged into the psu and it comes on and off repeatedly, any advice welcome, thankyou

All you would need to know, in order to know what CPUs would fit it, is the model number of either the motherboard OR the prebuilt OEM number if it was purchased as a whole unit.

I would begin by double checking EVERY SINGLE ITEM at the following link. Don't skip anything just because you THINK you already know it's ok. Check everything. Reseat all memory modules. Make sure you installed the CPU the CORRECT way in the socket, and did not bend any pins. Likely, at a guess, I'd say that was the most probable mistake we see noobies make is trying to install the CPU the wrong way in the socket and bend the pins on the board or CPU all to hell.

Also, make sure you've reconnected the CPU fan, or it won't ever start and run unless the BIOS...

My motherboard didnt have a number to say what cpu's fitted it, and me being a noob at pcing i took it to check that the cpu i was buying fitted, which was a good call cause it didnt, but i now know theres ways of finding out. But yeah that's why I took it apart, and to be fair it needed a clean so i blew it all out while i had it apart with a hairdryer

Also, make sure you've reconnected the CPU fan, or it won't ever start and run unless the BIOS settings have been changed to allow the system to run without a signal from the CPU fan for the RPM of the cooler.
