Hello everyone
I am finally picking up a GPU for my system and my system is :
CPU: Intel i5 7600k
MB: Msi Z270 M7
RAM: Hyper X 16GB
Playing on UltraWide (2560x1080)
I am thinking to buy a GTX 1060 6GB would you recommend it?
from what company should I buy? and what model
I am thinking to get EVGA GTX 1060 SSC will it be good?

Solution
Yes EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SSC is a good card. I hate to see the GPU prices still up on the GTX 1060.

New next-gen Nvidia cards are releasing this summer, and the mid-range later this fall I think. So do keep that in mind with your decision.

The 1060 is lacking a bit for an ultrawide. The 1070 would be a better fit. 1060 works for 1080p but barely. It can keep up at 60fps in AAA titles and rarely dip below 40fps. If you're looking to get in the 100fps+ territory at 1080p I'd look into a 1070 and you have more than 1080p.

Thanks for answering i have been thinking about that but sadly i need the card to be able to play games in the summer
and if the next gen cards came out it I might sell my gtx 1060 and get a new mid range card
I will try to read the solution people will put here and then see some reviews before buying i hope that i make the right choice

Thanks for answering
True what u said but sadly the gtx 1070 is 150USD more than the 1060 + sadly my monitor is 60hz so i thought gtx 1060 might be the perfect choice to get a steady 60fps at ultra settings in most current and future games

a 1060 6gb will get you 60fps at ultra settings 1080p with current games. there are no guarantees that that card will be able to maintain that level with FUTURE games. You will be better off getting a 1070 or higher if you want that monitor and a little future proofing. you wont regret it.

I would recommend looking into a 1070, but the 1060 should get you what your looking for nonetheless. EVGA and ASUS IMO are some of the best in the business, also what games are you wanting to run?

Thank you for answering

you're solution is absolute right, gtx 1060 might not keep up at 60fps for future games but for this year and previous it is doing very good at 1080p i might stick with the gtx 1060 and upgrade in the future for next gen card and who knows? i might get a 144hz monitor and my wish come true, thanks again.

Thanks for answering, and please do tell me about the model i picked up if it is going to get the job done
the game i want to run is:
The Witcher 3 (Game of the year edition)
battle field 1
battle field V (if it came out)
PUBG
For Honor
Call of Duty 4 (if it came out)
Far Cry 5
League of Legends
Warframe

You can expect 60fps 1080p high-ultra settings in all those games with GTX 1060 6GB. Your i5-7600K might limit you a small amount in some of the CPU intensive games, but not enough to worry unless you get very picky about your framerate and GPU usage always being 100%. A CPU Overclock might get rid of that though.

You may have to drop the settings a bit to get consistently over 40 fps with a 1060 in some games. In other games it'll run just fine. It's a shame the 1070 is so expensive because that's the real performance/not too crazy killer card. Same goes for the AMD Vega 56. Real nice performance, not too crazy, but super expensive.

It would be nice if we could buy 1440p monitors and run them properly. PS4 and XBOX is all about 4k but we are stuck at 1080p unless you spend $1000 in video.

Hello.

That is a good card, but have you considered rx580?

If you can find any for a low price, instead of 1060,it would be a good option. They are equivalent in most titles, and you get and extra of 2gb ram in GPU.

A GTX 1070 would be your best bet for playing games on an Ultrawide monitor at that resolution.

Do keep in mind that the new GTX 1180/2080/whatever are being released in the next months, and are expected to be 50% more powerful than a GTX 1080 and 20% more powerful than a GTX 1080 Ti.

Hope this helped!

Thank you for answering and you're right gtx 1070 and the vega 56 are extremely expensive i hope that the new gen card will solve this problem and we can actually have a great card with a reasonably price

and about the PS4 and XBOX they really should get a mid range resolution that run 2K at 60fps and i hope to see a PS5 with this kinda stuff, PS4 is getting too old :(

Thanks for Answering Lachlan, yeah i had thought about it but i couldn't trust the prices + when it first come out the demand will be super high and the price with it it need couple of month after the release to calm down + i couldn't wait for next gen cards :( needed a card for this summer to actually play.

Thanks For Answering, you are right the are the same in performance but sadly in my county i couldn't find some one to sell them at a reasonably price (if there any one to sell them) and on websites i usually find them the same price.
