router with 10/100 speed split it into 5 switch how much bandwidth does 1 switch have?

for example if i have 1 router with 10/100 bandwidth that means 100mbps
and i want to split it into 5 switch with 10/100 bandwidth and i have 1 gigabit internet speed(i know this will bottle neck so just for example) will they get 25 mbps speed for each switch or they will get 100mbps when they use their maximum speed?

If all of them are actively doing something, the bandwidth will be shared.
It won't be an exact 20/20/20/20/20 split.

If you have a gigabit connection from the ISP, and do not yet own these switches and routers....do not buy them.
No matter how cheap. Even if they are free.

If you have 1gbps from the ISP, and your router is only capable of 10/100...then you will never see more than 100mbps on any device.
The switch...each port on the switch is capable of its own 100mbps, whatever the other ports are doing.

But if you truly have 1gbps from the ISP and that router...you need a new router.

Up to a point, yes.
Again...each port on the switch is independently capable of 100mbps.

Your problem then lies in the router. A single switch (with daisy chained children) is only talking to one port on the router. 100mbps, to be shared among ALL devices connected to that switch, and all the downstream switches.
 
The internal switch of the router and the WAN port can only supply 100mbps to each port.

So if you have a true 1gbps connection to your ISP, you will still only ever reach 100mbps.

If you want to ensure nobody goes above 25mbps, you need to use the routers bandwidth limitation / QOS features.

Personally, the router sounds out of date, especially if you have a 1gbps connection to your ISP.

If you hang a switch off a 100mbps router port, then all the ports on the switch, have to share that ports 100mbps connection.

If you need a lot of LAN connections, then I still say get a decent router and 8 port 1gbps smart switch that supports link aggregation, this way you can have two connections back to the router to ease traffic congestion, in all directions.

1 last question i think.. so if i have router with 100mbps speed, and i connect it into 1 switch(call it parents) and split it into 5 switch(call it child), the child will only have 25 mbps when all 5 child using max speed?
 
Yes, children can only go as fast as the parents switch port and as I said, you would have to limit bandwidth usage or one child could hog all 100mbps.
If for example one user is streaming, another filesharing and another gaming, then the streamer and gamer could end up with poor performance..

10/100 router -> 10/100 switch#1 ->5x 10/100 switch#2-5....

All devices connected to those switches will SHARE a single 100mbps uplink to the router, when talking to the outside world.

Is this a theoretical discussion, or do you already own these ancient devices?
