I have a Dell Precision T1650 with the Intel i7 3770 3.4 GHz processor, 8 GB of RAM, and the stock Intel HD 4000 graphics. I would like to upgrade to an EVGA 750 ti or an EVGA 1050 ti 4GB, but I don't know if either of these are compatible with my motherboard. I know the size would fit, but what about the technical stuff? Thanks in advance.

FYI: I plan to play games such as American Truck Sim, Rainbow Six: Siege, and Watch Dogs 2, but not on the highest settings.

They should both be compatible with your board. In fact, any modern PCIe x16 card should work. The GTX 1050 Ti is by far the better of the two gfx cards, btw.

Would I need to get a new power unit? It says I would need a 300 watt supply, but I'm not sure how to tell what mine is. Thanks for the response, I appreciate it.

The PSU's total wattage is a poor spec to go by. It's never stated if that is peak power or continuous power. Besides that, the +12v rail is the important spec for the PSU when powering a gfx card. I believe your PSU is 320W, but with a strong enough +12V rail rated at 280W; enough to handle either card. There should be no need to replace the PSU for even the GTX 1050 Ti OC.

To verify, simply open your PC and read the nameplate on the side of the PSU. I believe it will look like this.
