I purchased a new desktop (it has an SSD boot drive C and a 1TB data drive D). I added my former 1TB drive to the desktop and it appears as drive G. I can get to all my former files, but when I try to run a Word or Excel file that I created with my Office H&S 2007 application, it prompts me to "purchase" a free Trial of Office 365.

Unfortunately, my original purchase was an electronic download - I do not have CDs. I have the license key, but Microsoft no longer has a download link for 2007.

Your new PC probably has a trial version of Office 365. You can try to re-install Office 2007 but it's very old and may not work in Windows 10. Are you still a student? I picked up Office 2013 for $10 from Microsoft when it came out. You can probable find an Office 2007 .ISO online somewhere.

If you still have the download file you may be able to reinstall using it.

This page -- https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/office?culture=en-US&ref=o12 says you can download previous versions with your product key.

That only goes back to Office2010.
They removed the Office2007 downloads a few weeks ago...:(

I noticed that too ... I looked everywhere on my older drive and could not find/recognize the Office Home and Student 2007 download file. So, I guess I will upgrade to the newest version - I purchased my H&S 2007 version 9 years ago.
