Numlock error on keyboard

Okay, so I've traditionally used a Corsair k70 - not relevant, except it recently shit the bed, and I got a Razor Ornata Chroma. So - everything works fine...except my numpad 8 key. The issue is, it will act as an up arrow, letting me scroll through things...but when I go to type the number 8 with the numpad into any field, text document, etc, it does nothing. I've tried iterations of num lock on and off, messed with the ease of access control panel, nothing. The weird thing is, the other arrow keys on the numpad (2,4,6) all work as intended.

I thought the key was broken until I realized I could use it to scroll, so it's not broken, but there's something fucky going on with it, and I'm either too stupid, or too close to the issue to solve it. Please, help me, please.

When the system is booting up, in the few seconds right after i put in my windows password, it works as intended, I can type 8 into text fields. Then, after about 20 sec, it doesn't.

It works fine on my laptop.

Razer support is stumped. Not a virus issue, not a driver issue, not a hardware issue. Done all troubleshooting they suggested.

Microsoft support is stumped. Done all troubleshooting they suggested.

UNINSTALLED all razer software with revo, no change when allowing windows drivers to control it.

The only thing Razer will do is let me send it in, then send me a replacement. I'm a student, I need the keyboard, can't use the on screen keyboard until I get the replacement.

It's not a broken keyboard, as it works on every other computer. Please help.

Are you saying that testing the keyboard on another computer the keyboard works fine? Do you have any macros setup? If you need to send it in, there are a lot of cheap keyboards you can get to use till you get it back.

If it works normally for a bit after Windows starts, there is some software loading that is then breaking that key. Bit strange that it's only the 8, but I've seen things not any stranger happen. Try starting in Safe Mode, does the key behave normally?

It works in safe mode! Is there anyway we can use this to see what's messing it up when it's not in safe mode?! Also, no macros, no. It does work on other computers, yes.

If it works in safe mode means something is starting up with Windows that is causing the issue. As to what, look over the programs installed and take some guesses. Anything 3rd party having to do with the keyboard I would remove. You can also go through the msconfig list of startup programs and see if anything there looks like it may be an issue. Make sure you don't just disable everything, need to work on things one at a time.

So I should just disable one, see if it fixes it, if not, re-enable it, and move on to the next one until I get through the list of start up programs?

Thanks for all of your help so far by the way, I really appreciate the time you're spending helping me with MY problems.
