Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB loses direct x10?

I agree it may be a DRIVER issue but if the latest is problematic I'd do this:

1) use DDU to remove drivers, then
http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

2) choose "custom->clean" option when installing NVidia drivers again

My GTX1080 works fine.

If that doesn't work it may be some Windows glitch but I can't find anybody else with this issue so we'll start there. Next thing I'd do is run MEMTEST86 www.memtest86.com for a full pass.

If still stumped I'd do an In-Place Upgrade of W10
1) create W10 USB stick with Microsoft media creation tool
2) run "startup.exe" from the USB stick and let it run (will overwrite some files)

If that doesn't work reinstall Windows?

When is the last time you updated the video driver? There's a new one released a few days ago on nVidia's website. If you haven't already done so, install or re-install the latest driver. But this time, choose the option to reset all options back to defaults when prompted.

I haven't gotten the newest driver however it has been doing that since about two driver updates ago. I'll try to set the options to their defaults.

Really can't see it being a hardware issue (aside from potentially your DDR3/4 memory being bad and corrupting data).
