I was working on Photoshop CS6 for about a hour max and save a picture to desktop then when I closed Photoshop the screen went blank and then became black. The pc was running in the background just no display. I shut off the pc via power switch and it turned itself off normally and on next boot it was working fine.
Pc specs:
Ryzen 2400G
Asus prime b350m-a
2x4gb 2400 adata ram
Wd blue hdd 1tb
Cx 430W psu

Welcome to software...... there are so many interactions anomalies that is I call job security. To your solution... If it happens often that is a problem if it was a one time event............. Shutting down the PC via the power button ( I assume, with out a standard shutdown) you are begging for problems. Windows caches information before it is write tn to the hard drive by default unless you turn that off. So the risk of corrupted data increases. I don't know what to tell you since you have provided almost no information. Motherboard specs are ulterlly useless here. Start with task manager to cancel things first. If you don't know how to do that ask.

You think motherboard model is useless here, wow. Lets say I am a complete noob and install it in a motherboard that isn't compatible with the cpu and I am getting black screen from the start, then also ypu would have said that motherboard and specs is useless here.
Anyways thanks for your time, looks like this was a onetime issue with drivers.
