I just bought a new GTX 1060 6gb GPU and it wont slot completely into its PCIe slot on the left hand side as the GPUs IO shield prevents it from slotting in any further.

Should I just straight up remove the GPUs IO shield?

I've had a similar problem before but that was because I was using a full height in a slimline PC. You can remove the IO shield but then you don't really have anything holding it in because that's where the screw goes. + that's an expensive card so you probably wouldn't want to risk it coming out + that card has 6 pin power so if it does come out it'll ruin it for sure. Personally I'd get out a dremel and cut either the part of the case it's hung up on. Part of the gpu io shield. Or both in order to make it fit nicely.
