Computer keeps freezing while playing some games

My computer keeps freezing while playing some games. It generally freezes when playing some games like GTA5 or AC Origins. I got the computer from Microcenter and as it was still under warranty (bought it 9 months back), I took it in for repairs. They told me they didn't experience the freezing issues but did find a defect with my video card, which they replaced. I just brought it back home and tried playing AC Origins and it once again freezes about 5 minutes or so into the game. I had the MSIAfterburner running and clocked my GPU temp at 77 and my CPU temp and 55, when it froze on me again.
The computer I have is a Powerspec G428 with the Intel Core i7-7700k 4.2GHz CPU with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPU by Zotac. I have the system connected to my Acer KG271HU monitor running the games at 1440p.
I did try running the game on a 1080p resolution and it still freezes around 5 minutes into the game. Older titles and even some newer ones like COD WW2 and Destiny works fine with no issues but some games don't.
Looking for any help and or recommendations. Thanks.

Run Event Viewer and check the logs for error codes or warnings just before or at the time of the freezes.

Start with the following link from within this Forum:

Another option is to run Task Manager or Resource Monitor to observe what you computer is doing. Open and observe your system for awhile - it should reach some "steady state".

Then leave the window open and slide to one side. Game and watch what happens. Look for some bottleneck that ties up one or more system resources.

@Ralston18: I just uninstalled and am currently re-installing AC Origins and will follow your suggestions and will update on the progress. I will also have the HWMonitor up and running and will keep an eye on that as well, once the game is installed and ready to play. Thanks for the quick response.
