I'm new to the SSD interface thing.
I have gtx 1050 ti installed on my PCIe 3.0 (x16) lane
It has these slots left [1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black),2 x PCIe 2.0 x1 ,3 x PCI]
I want to add an SSD to use as my boot.
However I'm confused at which type of SSD interface should I go for.
nVMe PCIe 3.0x4, m2 ? I don't have anymore PCIe 3.0 lanes left. need adapter for m2 card?
aHCI PCIe 3.0x4, m2 ? similar as above?
or just use SATA SSD?
would I bottleneck the SSD if I install them on PCIe 2.0 interface(with the adapter)?
It's going to be used for gaming and general.

Just go with a simple Sata SSD. You loose nothing. If your mobo doesn't have native m.2 port, then you need a controller to fit in the pci and convert to m.2 which is not recommended. You will pay extra money for the controller and it may get you into problems
