Sudden lag in laptop when playing games

My Lenovo flex 5 has been starting to lag after playing games for a while. This ranges from about 3 minutes (Tf2, HOI4) to over an hour (Pokémon). The FPS drops a lot and even after I close the game the entire laptop lags for a little while longer. I'm running windows 10.

Hi,

Please check your computer performance using Resource Monitor, and also your temperatures. For temperatures I recommend Speccy, but you're welcome to use any program you wish.

This does sound like your laptop is overheating, but this is just to confirm. If the temps are high, try elevating your laptop off the table, as well as cleaning out the heatsink. You could also buy a cooling pad, but it's best to diagnose the problem before trying solutions.

Thank you very much as soon as I started TF2 it spiked, definitely higher than it should've been.
