I am running 2 nvidia 8800gts in sli and want to upgrade to bigger at better cards or card. My system is quite old its an Intel core 2 quad pentium 2400mh nvidia sli 750 chipset pcie 2.0 dual x 16 sli and 8gb ddr2 ram any suggestions would be appreciated

how much is your budget?
not sure what CPU you have, i had a core 2 quad q9550 o.c. @ 3.4 GHz running rx580 for a while, i finds there are serious bottleneck with the CPU and ram.
since you are running sli, i doubt your psu has issue.
and you can pbbly recycle case, hdd, os,
if you have 100, i would suggest you to get a gt1030,and save some $ next year to upgrade your system. 1080p low settings
200, i would suggest you to get a 1050 or 1050ti, and save some $ next year to upgrade your system. you should be able to run most game in 1080p low settings
300, i would suggest you to get an AMD APU 2200g or 2400g with b350 and 8gb ram. 1080p low settings.
