Solution
Well, there are a couple of things that could be up.

You should first look at is your power profile and set it to performance if it isn't. Next is in the NVidia control panel. You want to set it to prefer the NVidia graphics card over the integrated. You can actually set that up on a per application basis if you want to maintain battery life while going portable. That way it doesn't try to use your 1060 for YouTube.

If those don't help then you are going to probably need to start looking at temps. If you are thermal throttling then you aren't going to have a good time. Fixing thermal throttling on a laptop is tricky. Sometimes a tweak to the fan curve will fix it, sometimes a cooling pad will, and sometimes you just need to take the thing apart and replace the thermal compound... and in extreme cases replace it with liquid metal. Some people claim they can fix it with undervolting, and on most systems it works well, but I lost the silicone lottery on that one. Undervolting doesn't work well at all on my 7700HQ.

So, check the settings, and if that doesn't fix it check your temps on your CPU and GPU.

Hope that helps.

Solution
Checking for GPU throttling isn't quite as easy as CPU throttling. If you want to check CPU throttling you need to download AIDA64 and run the CPU stress test. It will allow you to view CPU temps and has a graph that will tell you in red if you are throttling.

For checking for GPU throttling I use the Heaven benchmark and MSI afterburner to monitor temps. If it gets up to the 90's you'll start to see the GPU core clock speeds fall, that is your clear indication that the GPU is thermal throttling.
