I have 8gb ssd drive, i tried to install Windows 7 lite on it and it shows i/o error, which in my research on net, i find out the drive has a bad sectors and need to be fix before i will be able to create new partition. I also learned that the only way to fix a bad sectors of any drive is if the drive must have a drive letter. My ssd drive is still unallocated and am unable to format or assign a drive letter. Please help me out.

What is the brand and model of that SSD?

...and no, it doesn't need to have a drive letter already existing in order to clean all the partitions off. But more on that later.

Depending on the model of that drive, there might be a way to perform a "factory reset" back to default should there be a vendor provided utility to do so.
