  • CPU: Ryzen 7 1800X 3.6ghz
    RAM: 16GB(2x8GB) G.Skill Flare X 3200(C14)
    GPU: Sapphire NITRO+ RX 580 8GB
    MOBO: MSI B350 Tomahawk
    SSD: Samsung 960 PRO 512GB M.2
HDD: 2 TB Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM (ST2000DM006)
Just to get some things out of the way. I have never overclocked or messed with the bios in any shape or form. Every part was used right out of the box without any tampering.

The problem is that my HDD(the 2TB seagate) suddenly disappeared from the drive list and BIOS. I took a screenshot and when I attempted to save it, it said the the location didn't exist anymore. And when I opened "This PC" it gave me an error of:

D/Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connect or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or Internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted.
I tried following several fixes for disappearing HDDs such as replugging the cables(and trying different ports) and attempting to use Seagate's software. However, Seagate's software cannot find any files on the HDD for whatever reason. And the drive passes all test on Seagate's software. I also checked with Crystaldiskinfo and now it shows the drives but no information on it. I will include an album of images that may fill in anything that I missed.

HDD **DOES** appear:

    Device Manager
    Disk Management
    Crystaldiskinfo
    SeaTools

HDD **DOES NOT** appear:

    BIOS
    This PC(drive list)

My OS(Windows10) is installed on my SSD(Samsung 960). Also, my 2TB Seagate was purchased about 6 months ago.

Odd. When did it disappear, and when did you update Windows? Asking those questions since the 1803 update of Windows has caused many issues for many people, this could be part of it. Also, did the drive disappear while you were using the PC, or was it after you booted it up?

Since you tried connecting the HDD to different SATA ports, the drive may be damaged in some way or corrupted. If it's corrupted, formatting the drive would be a good idea, but since it won't show up, that seems like a difficult task to accomplish, seeing as the 2TB drive shows up as 4GB if not less.

In the case it is damaged, and your warranty is still valid, you could try to request an RMA as a last resort. http://support.seagate.com/customer/en-US/warranty_validation.jsp can help validate your warranty. If it's damaged, there's not much you can do about it. You could try to backup files if they show up with this program: http://www.easeus.com/datarecoverywizard/free-data-recovery-software.htm

It disappeared May 30th or June 1st? Can't remember exactly. I updated windows about a week before that. The drive disappeared while I was using it, I went to take a screenshot and save it to the desktop and I got that error that the Desktop was unavailable.

I actually cannot even initialize/format the drive, when I attempt to it gives me another error that mentions something about an I/O error.

I tried almost all the well known data recovery/drive backup softwares and none will detect the files on the drive. They detect the drive but not the files.

Yeah, that sounds like a drive failure to me. I'd suggest waiting for seagate_surfer to respond, they might know better.
