Are speakers peripherals? Just want to make sure I post this in the right place.

I need good 2.0 speakers under 100 dollars. Do watts affect loudness? What do I need to look for good quality speakers that can get pretty loud? I'm not an audiophile just looking for something to replace my Creative Inspire T10 pair. Any recommendations?

Yes. The little "thing" is volume control. It's also where you can plug in your headphones and turn off the speaker system.

The subwoofer can just be placed on the ground under your desk. Vibrations from the subwoofer travel up, so it's best to have it on the ground.

G'day,

I use the Logitech Z213 2.1 Speaker System. Cost me $29USD ($39AUD) and works perfectly. It can get loud if you want it to be loud, and it comes with a subwoofer. The bass is great with the subwoofer.

Would highly recommend this if your on a budget!

That little thing is the volume control right? Does subwoofer placement matter? I don't have a big desk and I'm also thinking of getting a bigger monitor which will take more space
