Hi,
I'm doing a Ryzen 5 2600 build and have everything but the motherboard.
I can get either the B350(with thr updated bios so it works out of the box) or x470.
I don't plan on overclocking it much.

So if I go for the cheaper b350 over the higher priced x470, will it compromise performance?

I'll mostly be gaming/streaming PUBG, CS and playing AAA titles offline @1080p

Thank you.

Solution
It doesn't affect performance alot. X370 and X470 mainly have better power delivery for better overclocking and more PCIE slots for Crossfire/SLI. The B350 wont affect the performance if you are not overclocking.

Performance would not be differ much may 2 -3 fps I think .

I would suggest x470, if budget is not too much of an issue. just in case you decides to upgrade the cpu down the road. Current 8 core is about to hit the limit on these B350 boards. As ryzen gets better, likely they would have more cores and higher frequency, both would increase the power usage. Making the board more future proof.

Issue with b350, is that even the best b350 mobo offers power delivery that’s equal or less than the x470. Newer cpu would sto work, but you are not about to unlock it’s true performance due to power limitations.
We are already seeing that a overclcked 27xx go draw power beyond the capability of b350, most of your b350 stops working up to 80a or about 110w power consumption.
