m.2 sata or nvme

i have bought an acer aspire 7 (A717-71G)
i am looking forward to buy an m.2 ssd , but i am not sure if my laptop supports SATA interface or NVMe . please HELP!!!

As far as i can see you have:
1x 2.5-inch HDD/SSD
1x M.2 SSD 2280 [strike]-> this means it supports NVMe[/strike]

But i dont think 71G is full model, shouldnt it be something more?
 

That doesn't mean anything about nvme.

But yes - this model supports nvme.

They are "cheaper", because they are similar performance to a regular SATA III drive. Just in a different package.
NVMe based drives are faster.

Now....would you personally see the performance difference?
Probably not, depending on what you use this system for.

Does your laptop support both NVMe and SATA based m.2 drives?
I'm not seeing anything that specifically says YES to SATA drives.

i dont know if my laptop supports m.2 sata . thats why i asked . i have a hard drive . just wanna use the m.2 slot aswell for better performance.

All we out here can do is look at the spec sheet.
So far...all we're seeing is that the m.2 port supports an NVMe drive.
Might it also support an m.2 SATA drive? Unknown.

Some m.2 ports support either.
Some, only one or the other.
