I bought a Dell Precision Workstation T1700 Intel C226 Chipset motherboard and an intel i7 2600, according to my research the cpu should fit but it just doesn’t. Please help

They are not the same socket, Your motherboard is socket 1150 and the i7 2600 is socket 1155. They are not compatible.
