I have asked other question on other threads, but are kinda unrelated to this so i put it on this thread. At the moment i have 8gb of ram...

1. Is 8gb still enough for 1080p gaming?

2. Can i just add on another 8gb?

3. If so do i need the same one?

4. Do i need to do anything after i add the ram?

i5-4690k 3.50, gtx 1060 6gb,

Solution
1) Depends on the game, most games will still be fine.
2) Most likely, sometimes kits dont mix well, thats why they are sold in pairs.
3) Even the same model and size can have issues.
4) Nah.

I personally wouldnt add anymore RAM to that system. If it was a DDR4 system, then yeah sure, but there is no point in buying more DDR3.

might be a dumb question but how would u know it was a DDR3 system, doesn't only the ram tell you. Also does that mean its outdated and should get DDR4?

Your processor tells me. You have a haswell processor, which runs on the LGA1150 platform, which uses DDR3 RAM. (I am on the same platform).

If you wanted to use DDR4 RAM you would have to buy a modern processor and motherboard.
I would recommend not doing anything, wait until you know you need to upgrade, then decide then.
