Router displaying two SSID's, one as secured, one as open

Hello,

My router is displaying two SSID's/router names when I search for available networks on my laptop. One is "Jimswifi" which displays as Secured and the other is "Jimswifi 2" which displays as Open. The open network (Jimswifi 2) does not display for long and disappears when I connect to the secured network (Jimswifi) or after a few minutes has passed. If I do connect to the Open network, it does not actually ever let me connect to the internet.

I'm fairly sure the open network originates from my router as it disappears when I turn off the router. Further to this, the open network does not always appear, and it only shows up when I turn on my laptop and router at the same time. The open network also does not show up on my smartphone as an available network.

Do I have anything to be concerned about?

Solution
To enable a guest SSID:

D-link 3680

Select ADVANCED then Advanced Wireless from the side menu. Check ‘Enable Wireless Guest Network’ Enter the required configuration details and click Apply.

Presumably unchecking the option would disable guest SSID. This might be the source of the 2nd SSID. Suggest you take note of any configured details before disabling it though.
