Independent Dual router setup

Would it be possible to take the Ethernet cable that comes from fibre connection and rather than connecting it to router wan port can I connect it to a fast switch to split it into 2 and run 2 routers off it, like completely independent doing all their own routing?

It depends on your ISP. If you can purchase a second public IP address from the ISP, then yes, you could do that. If your ISP only provides one IP address, then the first router that asks for an IP will get one and the second router won't.
