I want to put 4-5m of 5V led strip in my pc and i'm not sure how to power it. i have a 850W power supply and a 120W limit on 5V and the strip should exceed the 90W.
i thinked 3 options:
1) use the 5V directly to power the led strip
2) use the 12V and a step-down converter (12V to 5V)
3) use an external 5V power supply.

any suggest or advice? which one is the best? there is a better option?

thanks.

Well....all three options are viable.
Option 1 will only screw you if you go over the 120w total. Or course this is difficult to say if you will.
I like option 3 better than option 2 because it keeps your PSU out of the equation. Also a converter will waste energy as heat.
