Hi, i recently upgraded from 32 to 64 bit so i could put more ram into my computer so i can play video games more smoothly. My computer said it was compatable with 64 bit so i did it. Then I bought some more ram and as soon as I put it in when i started my pc there was literally just a black screen and a beep that lasted until i turned my pc off. I checked the new ram and it is DDR3 like my old ram so that should be fine. I don't know why my pc will not accept 4gb more since it is now 64 gb compatible.

Thanks, Ellis

google the motherboard model number and the words "beep codes" you should get a list of what each beep pattern means.

you added new RAM to the old? that is always tricky. you should have replaced the RAM you had with a matched set of RAM. Mixing RAM is always a gamble it may work it may not.
determine what the repeating beeps mean. they vary by maker.

does the system work with just the new RAM installed?
does it work with just the old installed?

if you move your feet, or shuffle in your chair, plug in the cord, reground yourself and unplug again.
end canned rant-

canned rant was just to make sure your grounded when working inside computer. Electro Static Discharge, or ESD can damage components and proper grounding is a way to prevent said damage. in case you were not aware of the procedure I thought I'd share

sounds like the new RAM and the motherboard are incompatible.
its not a case, not that we know, that the RAM is not working together it seems the new RAM and the motherboard aren't friendly.
