Hello, I have just recently been experiencing Windows 10 boot up issues which I believe has ruined a hard drive which is irrelevant at this point. I am trying to find the root cause of this, I think I may have figured it out but I'm seeking advice please.

I have a Phanteks Enthoo Evolve ATX Tempered Glass case being used with Phanteks LED Strips (1). This build is about 18 months old. No issues except one which I've ignored until now because I believe it relates to my newest issue which I must solve. Since the day 1 build the LED strip will reset the color I have set using the button on the front panel of the case. It will reset randomly every couple days I would say. I didn't care to worry about it, I just got the button to my preferred color. I didn't think this was normal though but didn't want to spend time resolving it.

Now, a Windows Update issue led me to replace my SSD. I just replaced my SSD hard drive and everything went fine reinstalling Windows. The next day I went to turn on the PC and it would power on fine for 1 second then turn off. The only internal work I did was on the back side of the case with the SSD harness. After fooling around with the PSU power switch I realized the PC would stay on when the LED strip light reset it's color. When it wouldn't work, a PSU switch flip to off then on and the PC would turn on for 1 second then turn off two times resulting in the power button not working unless I flipped the PSU power switch again. The PSU is the newest piece of hardware besides the new SSD having been replaced once since the build was made already.

This leads me to believe that the issue relates to maybe a setting in my BIOS? Based on this information what do you believe the issue is? I appreciate any assistance with this.

As such, my build:
Phanteks Enthoo Evolv Glass w/ 1 LED Strip
ASRock Z97Fatal1ty Professional
Corsair AX860i
Corsair CMD16GX3M2A1600C9
Samsung 500 GB SSD
GeForce 1080Ti
Soundblaster ZX
Corsair H90

my best guess is faulty motherboard. check all of your connections and make sure there is no metal touching the back of the motherboard or a wacky screw/standoff. some led lights forget color on total power loss. happens to mine all the time with nzxt hue. it sounds like when you drain the power to the board completely, it is causing the led color loss and resolving the boot issue. even when your computer is off, it keeps residual power in the board. usually you can turn off the psu switch and tap the power button for 10 seconds and it'll fire right back up. ive had the same issues with my asrock board. my old one got progressively worse until I replaced the board. still happens like 5% of the time on the new one rather than 50% like on the old board.
