hi i want to buy one new soundcard and i am between Asus Strix Raid DLX and Asus Essence STX II 7.1

i dont know which to buy?

what is the difference between Asus Strix Raid DLX and Asus Essence STX II 7.1 ? and which is the best?
i want the soundcard for games, music and movies

so which soundcard are you suggested me to buy?
Asus Strix Raid DLX or Asus Essence STX II 7.1?

Unless you have an audiophile sound system and speakers(not to mention audiophile ears!) I doubt that you could HEAR the difference between either of those sound cards and the built in audio from your motherboard! So, unless you have a specific reason(other than you WANT a sound card), I would NOT recommend EITHER card. It would just be extra expense for NO PERCEIVABLE improvement in sound.

Hi
i am using
Asus Strix Raid DLX

I would recommend you get " Asus Strix Raid DLX "
I am type of person Playing lot of games and i have seen a lot of sound card which i didn't but " Asus Strix Raid DLX ' is the best

here is some information.

Instant-on Raid Mode: Customize in-game audio with one click
124dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and audiophile-grade DAC: Enjoy high-fidelity, immersive sound
Sonic Studio utility: Take full control over loads of sound technologies via an intuitive, one-page interface
Sonic Radar Pro: Lets you pinpoint the exact location of in-game sounds and enhances critical audio details like enemy footsteps for an aural advantage
600ohm headphone amplifier: For enhanced bass and clear, detailed sound

Thanks

A soundcard(like your built in audio on the motherboard) doesn't KNOW(or care) what the sound is coming from, It will work with games, movies, and music.

@clarkjd

but the reality the soundcard really matter
its matter of effect which is

good sound card can make a big difference over onboard sound if you have the speakers to match. As of right now if you using headphones or a 2 speaker setup and when you get these speakers you will hear a big difference.

There are only 2 reasons to buy a sound card these days. They are; audio isolation, trying to get your sound off the motherboard to prevent noise, and extra features, such as more inputs or outputs and fancy features.

If you don't have a need for either of those, then you don't need a sound card... but man it does make you feel like an audio snob to have one.

Generally, if it is from ASUS and says Strix, it is the best they have. Always go with the best that you can get... though, Creative arguably makes a better product in their Audigy lineup, but many of those are meant for aspiring audio professionals who are looking for some hardware to get started on.

So, between the two you are looking at, get the Strix. It is the more gaming oriented card. Unless you are looking for a semi-professional card with which to do some audio editing. The Essence STX II fits that bill. It is more of an extreme audiophile kind of card.

@ROot:
As I said in my first post, Unless you have the extra Audiophile equipment(amplifier, speakers(or headphones)) And the discerning ears to go with it, then the difference WILL NOT be audible!

@OP:
What are the specs of each sound card? Does a 0.0001 percent difference in distortion REALLY make a difference when the distortion caused by the speaker system is on the order of 1 to 10 percent? Again, unless you have spent several HUNDRED $ on your speaker system and the same on amplifiers, you will not HEAR any difference!

if i buy Asus Strix Raid DLX will it be good for music and movies?? will i hear in songs very clear and beauty sound?

and i have one more question with Asus Strix Raid DLX can i put and one custom 5.1 speakers?

Asus Strix Raid DLX supports only gaming headsets? or it suports all the kind of headsets?

As per my previous posts, I recommend trying the on board sound, and only get a sound card if you have the peripheral sound system to take advantage of the card.

If you just have to throw money away on a sound card, get whichever one is priced lower. As I said before, you won't hear the differences, no matter what you are doing.

i hear very clear & beauty sound from music & movies from my motherboard with decent sennheiser headphones.

As youve been told many times before, you prob wont hear any difference. Audiophiles get an external DAC and plug their headphones or speakers into that.
If you're till interested in DLX look at the specs on their website.

You can put on 5.1 speakers, however chances are that you will have to get adapters to hook up something like stereo system speakers. If you were to output to an audio receiver it would work really well as you can output to most in a digital format which will help eliminate noise.

Any soundcard will support a variety of outputs, including just about any headset you want to use.
