I have few years old Acer Aspire 5739G laptop with Geforce GT240M 2GB graphics. My little sister uses it mainly and plays Roblox. Last few days, the gpu started to just stopping and coming back or not coming back at all. Reboot isnt an option, it still doesnt work and there is completely blank screen. And it goes online again little time after.
My laptop always had heat issues, especially with gpu, but now its not heat related. I dont find anything related either. I just sit and watch Gpu-z to notice if its related to usage or clocks, nothing. I was using 342.01 drivers then i downgraded to 340.52 to test if its driver related. At first it seems OK very beginning but nope still happens.
I also tried downclocking a bit since its notebook card i cant touch voltages or power limit but it didnt worked. Im planning to downclocking it all the way down if it matters.
Before this started to happening, i noticed sometimes windows takes forever to boot or sometimes when it opens to desktop the resolution was 800x600 auto changed.
I didnt tested but i think when i was uninstalled my drivers to downgrade, while on standart drivers in windows it seemed kinda fine.
