CPU Upgrade for an old Laptop

In theory yes.
Both CPUs are 35w so the motherboard physically can support it and both CPUs share the same CPUID in the microcode (206A7). They share the same RAM speeds and bus speeds as well.
It's been sometime since i've done a CPU swap in a laptop (I believe it was a T9800 upgrade) and I am unsure if more recent laptops have added additional measures to prevent cpu upgrades outside of the manufacturer offered cpus.
