Hello All,

I've searched through this forum and others trying to find a solution and have come up with nothing. I currently have a Gigabyte 990fx motherboard and a LSI-9211-4i PCI SAS controller. I just plugged in my HE10 HGST SAS drive to the controller and booted up. The LSI seemed to function correctly. I went into computer management and it shows the driver is functioning correctly. I thought maybe it wasn't working. So, I plugged in all my SATA drives into it and it read all of them except the SAS drive. I then disabled the SATA and ran just the SAS controller and would not boot. I then activated the SATA eventhough only a basic 2tb drive was connected and it booted up fine. So, I am scratching my head of what could be wrong. I did notice going into LSI settings and selecting the 9211 it gave me an error code that it could not read and gave a code 0x16808022. Do I also need software or something? Or should this operate as a normal hard drive? Any help would be appreciated

I am assuming that you are using SAS cable as it would not fit otherwise.

Do you have the latest firmware? I would expect that your system would discover your disk as a 2TB without firmware upgrade.

I am leaning to either a cable or disk problem, I don't suppose you can test your disk on another controller or borrow another disk.

Have you contacted Broadcom support (they own LSI now).
