so by doing this i wont lose all my files/set ups i have on my SSD where windows is installed right now will i? Because im pretty sure its telling me to delete everything off my drive...
"This is the step where you remove any previous Windows installations and all existing partitions on the drive so that there can be no future conflicts regarding the Windows boot partition information. We recommend selecting, one at a time, and deleting, all existing partitions on the primary drive until no partitions remain and there is only unallocated space."

Okay I don’t have anything important I want to save. But this is getting absolutely ridiculous. I was installing windows 10 on my USB and when I came back the computer was still on but my monitor was black and catching no signal. I’m so lost and confused and I’m about to go crazy.

I can boot from the USB and it brings me to the purple install screen but it’s not finding the driver. Probably because I couldn’t complete the previous step due to me not being able to see the menu (monitor losing signal)

It's possible you interrupted the installation, or it encountered a hang up. I would start over and restart the installation process. With your SSD it shouldn't take terribly long. I would sit with it throughout the install to make sure you see what is going on.

Be sure you are formatting the drive before reinstalling Windows. I also format and delete all partitions (Windows creates a few small ones) and then let Windows recreate the partitions for the clean install.

I looked online and several other people are having this problem as well. I also have no idea what you’re meaning by format the drive before reinstalling windows. What drive? How? This is the most frustrating thing I’ve dealt with in awhile.

The first part of this short video shows you how to boot from CD, but you are booting from USB. I think you have that part down. Now, follow the rest of the video to see how to format and clean install Windows 10.

Be sure to only format the drive in which you intend to install Windows on. If you have multiple drives (hard drives/solid state drives) they will show up in this section of the Windows install. For instance, Drive 0 might be your SSD and have several partitions. Drive 1 might be your larger HDD. Only format and delete Drive 0.

Looks like it’s working now. I thought about what you said and I set my display to never go to sleep. I also sat there and watched it haha. I guess if you let the monitor go to sleep it messes things up. Thanks for your help. I might be back for more help hahaha.

Okay we have a problem. I deleted all the files before I read this (WHY DIDNT THEY PUT THIS FIRST?!?!?!) (Do not delete any partitions showing that are on the USB flash drive you are using to install windows from, if it shows up in the list of partition information. All others may be deleted unless you still have other drives connected.) so now I’m stuck on the purple screen on boot up with nothing on the USB. I’m stuck....

So you don't have any other OS installation media to use that has Windows 10 or maybe Linux on it?

Uhhh I have a windows 10 CD that came with the computer. So I took out the USB put in the windows 10 disk and restarted. And apparently it worked... but I still have the same custom screensaver I had before the wipe but nothing else... weird?
