Not enough power???

So I have a brand new Mobo, RAM, and a CPU and connected everything. My 500w psu seems to work when I do the paperclip test, the fans spin and light. For some reason, the power won’t flow through the board. I bought a new psu (750w) to see if it’s that (it won’t be here for a few days) but my 500w was just working less than a week ago. The ethernet port lights but nothing I try turns the pc on for even a second. Tried using a screwdriver to start, I tried everything including a new Mobo. I’m hoping it’s just needing a new psu. I’ll list my specs below.
Mobo: Msi z370
RAM: Corsair Vengence 2x4gb 2666mhz
CPU: i5-8600k
GPU: EVGA GeForce gtx 1060 SSC 6gb
Fans: 4 case fans and one cpu fan for my Cooler Master 212
Storage: 1xSSD and 1xHDD

by the sound of things you did your own build correct ? and if you did and you installed your cpu in bad it will do the same thing even if you install same cpu in a diff mobo

Try breadboarding the system as suggested by Ztdutxjgxgtu. No gfx card. Just CPU/cooler, PSU, RAM, KB, monitor (to iGPU). Start by momentarily shorting the two pins that the power button would connect to.
