MoCA and Access Point

I have a house full of coax cables, so I would like to try MoCA 2.0. I would like to have multiple Wireless Access Points at different locations (basement, main level, and bedroom level), I know there will need to be a MoCA device at each location, but how many MoCA devices do I need at my router or switch since I would guess I need to connect an ethernet cable for each Access Point I require going to the router or switch.

If I need a pair for each Access Point then it could get expensive.

You need just 1.....assuming all the cables are connected together someplace. You will want to disconnect any unused cables and run as few moca boxes as you can to get the best performance. I would hook them up 1 at a time and test. Sometimes there is a bad cable connection and it will cause issues and it will be hard to find it you hook it all up at the same time.

bill001g.... thanks so much for your time and response, it's very much appreciated.

I will take you up on your recommendation to add the MoCA devices slowly. I will try and minimize the amount of MoCA devices I have on the system. I am just happy you say an Access Point will work, that will reduce the complexity of trying to run ethernet through my home which at this point would be close to impossible without running on the outside of the house.

I will start planning the first MoCA pair installation and see how it goes with an Access Point hooked up.
