After pushing off a Windows update for what seemed like several weeks, I finally tried updating. Upon booting up the computer (after I thought the installation was done), I was presented with an error box/message reading:

"Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation"

After looking up solutions to the error, I tried booting into the "Automatic repair" mode by shutting down my computer shortly after Windows started loading 2-3 times. This seems to work as I am presented with a black screen with the windows logo and text beneath it reading "Preparing Automatic Repair". The problem is that after 5 seconds, this message disappears, leaving me on a black screen with no options/prompts.

Try checking your bios settings to make sure they aren't throwing you for the restart loop.
If thats not it, try inserting your windows installation cd and boot to that to try to use the windows repair on the disk
