Looking to upgrade RAM

I have one ram which is already inside the motherboard and that ram is 512mb and 600Mhz of frequency.
So, can i replace the same with ram of 2gb and 800Mhz of frequency ? As i want to upgrade my ram.

Intel® Desktop Board D945GCPE tats the motherboard. And processor is Intel Pentium dual core.

DDR2 667 or DDR2 533 MHz

800MHz should also work auto down-clocking to 667MHz. Best to replace with 667MHz memory

One more thing is like on RAM. Its written like 1R×8, so what is tat exactly and will it matter if I buy 2R×8 and of same specifications as mentioned above ?

1R stands for Single Rank, 2R for Dual Rank. The sticks for your system is most likely single rank.
